View Full Version : DVD Complete: Muxing Error

I've created a DV video using Premiere and then encoded in DVD Standard using TMPGEnc. TMPGEnc encoded video only. I stripped the audio track from the DV AVI file using VirtualDub, then added them to the DVDComplete project, one as an overture (the intro video) and one as a movie, for which I defined chapters.

Every time I run the Build DVD process for DVDComplete, it errors in the muxing stage. It tells me to check the log file, which the end of reads:

VOBMuxer: Finished Cell 1 of Vob 1 Starting 27027
VOBMuxer: Begin Cell
VOBMuxer: Starting Chapter 2 at GOP 1004
ERROR: PacketParser: Assertion Failed:
C:\Dev\DVDCre8\VobMux\MPEG2Parse.h 877
Can't Continue
ERROR: VideoTSBuilder: MUX Failed
ERROR: VideoTSBuilder: Build VOB Failed
VideoTSBuilder:
VIDEO_TS FULL BUILD FAILED

VideoTSBuilder: 3 Errors, 1 Warnings

I've tried using IFOEdit to mux the files and get a "Too many dropped frames!" error.

What have I done wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

For starters, you used TMPG :P. What is your source of audio? WAV, MP2, MP3? If its a wav, authoring programs are going to want to author it as PCMA which has a whopping bitrate of 1185 (something like that) so your video bitrate has to be 8xxx something. Your bitrate could be too high to make a vob. Or I could be wrong... just a thought.

Audio source is a separate WAV file (separated by VirtualDub). My DVD player can't handle MP2 or MP3 audio. It can do PCM or AC3 (Pioneer DV-333). But, DVDComplete can't accept AC3!

If you're wondering why I just don't use DVDComplete's encoder, it's because with this particular video, it's horrible.
