according to the upgrade information page at ahead.de, one of the reasons to upgrade to Nero6 is "MPEG-4 video encoding* and playback", however, I can find neither the matching * that would explain what the encoding part is all about, nor any mention about what I believe that encoder would be - Nerodigital - on the ahead site (except for a document on Nerodigital.. but there's no product description or anything). The document on nerodigital only mentions that the codec will be available at the end of Q2 (which means End of June), that there will be a dedicated encoding application in Q3 and support for embedded devices in Q4.

Has anybody managed to locate the mpeg4 video encoder in Nero6?

Hi Doom9,

Nero 6 is MPEG-4 audio encoding (HE-AAC) and Audio/Video MPEG-4 playback (including NeroDigital, also MPEG-4) through Nero Showtime.

The preview info and newsletter on Nero Digital here:

http://www.nerodigital.com/

It fools a little, that upgrade page. Maybe it will available soon as a plugin free of charge, or included in next Nero 6.x versions.

I don't think there is such encoder right now. NeroShowtime is only a player.

I think if you look at the PDF datasheet, the * points to its being availible at a later date. I can't find the PDF after the site redesign.
