after my dvd2svcd session is done, I get a bunch of files in my movie folder that I don't need(8-10 gb. worth) I just use the muxed_ files and burn w/ nero.. the files appear to have a quicktime type icon and then there are the cue/bin files which i never use. I'm pretty sure that the .vob files are there due to the ripping process. Just curious and wondering if there is a way to prevent it.. Thanx :-}

The VOBs are the ripped (and decrypted) files from the DVD. You may, in theory, encode on the fly, but it is not recommended (may damage your DVD unit).
The cue/bin are the CD images DVD2SVCD creates for you, with a picture before, change cd picture and a last picture. If you prefer to burn the SVCD yourself with Nero, select "Don't make images" and DVD2SVCD will stop after the muxing.
After the conversion and burning is done you can remove all the files you don't need (probably all of them). But you must keep at least the muxed or the images to create the SVCD.
Hope this helps.
