View Full Version : Why no "PAL speed-up" with TMPGENC?

Hello friends,

yesterday, I did a PAL conversion using TMPGENC. My original file was a MPEG-2 file with 23,976 fps which I feeded into TMPGENC using DVD2AVI via VFAPI as a .d2v project file. I converted that video stream into PAL with TMPGENC and expected the running time of the resulting video stream file (.m2v) to be approx. 4% shorter due to the known "PAL speed-up effect".

But the .m2v file came out with exactly the same running time like the original file!

Can somebody please explain this to me? Why didn't I experience the PAL speed-up? Is there a related setting in TMPGENC?

Any info would be greatly appreaciated!

(EDIT)
I think I have found the answer... could it be me not using the "Don't do frame rate conversion" switch in Advanced Options?

Thank you all,

Gero
