AVS Script Works ... Re-encode??

I have recently gotten a movie that was encoded with the incorrect aspect ratio. I have written a simple AVS script file that solves this problem, but I always have to play the AVS file that is linked to the AVI for this to work. Is there a way to simply change the aspect ratio of the movie without re-encoding the entire thing over again. And if I do have to re-encode, what is the best way: encode at the same bit rate and all the other same settings, or decompress everything and recompress it?

1. Several players can change the aspect ratio of a movie. ( ZPlayer, BSPlayer, others )

2. No, aspect ratio cannot be changed without reencoding.

3. I don't fully understand your last question, but you cannot recompress without decompressing. Already compressed formats such as MPEG-4 (divx or xvid) cannot be recompressed, even if your method reads the file directly, it is decompressing first, which is what an AviSynth script does.

4. Just reencode from the DVD if it's wrong. If you don't have the DVD, and this is a legal situation, just use a player that can change AR or save the avisynth script, it's small.

Matroska has an AR flagswell, so you'll have the correct AR in every
application which is able to play back mkv files.

I tried to encode the movie by the file of avi , dvdrip divx and dvdrip xvid.What should i need to install(the software)to my computer?can you help?thankyou.I use roxio (6) to encode and burn the movie.
