I assume you don't like .NET, otherwise you could take my code to make a standalone app or a COM object, would be a matter of a few minutes

Hi all!
Dark, I forgot to tell you I had started a little XML Definition file editor.
GUI is ready but the project only open .def files.
Edit and Save have to be implemented.
Maybe someone could do the job..
VB6(US) project is available http://www.lalternative.org/xmldef/XMLPluginEditor.zip (here)

todo is an update of the filter deffinition, a better bold of the parameters when all the param are not set for a filter, a dynamic detection of the avisynth function (in the import or in the .avsi file) and to not display tooltips beetween "( )" when it's not a filter. and find a way to handle filter with presets and wrapper function with default params values.

I do not play much with Avisynth, in spite of I like it.
Never heard about that tool. Image looks great, so
I will try it.
Just a note - ZIP contains 2 identical directories
"xxx 0.5" and "xxx 0.5.0" ( byte compare )

Tried to give your proggie a run through but it seems I am having trouble. None of the filters show up in the left hand window and the preview feature causes a crash when I launch internal preview. I registered each of the three ocx files. (I get a dialog box saying that I did). My system is W2k. Not sure what else to check. Presumably it doesn't care what Directory I run this from? Mine is installed in "H:\Program Files\AVI VB Editor\"
Edit: Ooops just noticed that I have to "enable" Definitions if I want to see the filters on the left. Still having problems with preview locking up. If a filter is not in your list of viewable filters will it lock up preview?

>If a filter is not in your list of viewable filters will it lock up preview?
no you can preview you script even if the filters used are not listed in the left treeview.
have you try to enable RGB32 preview ? what happen when you try to preview the script ? (an error msg, a black screen , a freeze ?)
