hi,
i'm trying to merge a subtitled avi-file with a mp3-soundfile, but everytime i try to do so, the subtitles go away, they seem to be replaced by the sound. what shall i do to keep both, sutitles and sound?

VirtualDub(Mod) doesn't handle subtitles embedded in AVI files.

For heaven's sake, dont do it please. In general AVI is technically capable of holding a subtitles stream, but in practice no AVI handling tool other than AVImux GUI will be able to cope with that ... you better use containers that were designed for that, like OGM or MKV ( matroska ) ....
