I can't delete avi files

I've a very strange problem. I've installed several codecs and everythink works fine; It's only imposible to delete an Avi file. WinXP says that somebody or some programm uses the file. Even if I shutdown all running processes I can't del. The only possibility is to restart windows and delete the files as quickly as possible; after one or two files i get the same message about somebody or programma is..etc.

Can somebody help me??

I don't understand why I still can't find anyting about this at Microsoft support and why they haven't released a patch that solves this problem :angry: But I suppose they don't want people to use the AVI container anymore and this is a way to scare ordinary users over to WMV (or whatever they call it nowdays).

1) Read up before asking! There are tons of guides, FAQs and each forum has a dedicated Q&A thread with additional info.

1a) Use the search function before posting. Chances are your question has already been answered.

I don't think I used profanity or insulting methods, I was just rather annoyed people can't be bothered to use the search or read the rules in the first place.
