hi,

been trying to convert a DTS soundtrack of a DVD to mp3. i ripped the dvd with the latest gordian knot pack, with robot4rip, but i had to see that dvd2avi didn't demux the soundtrack to a dts file, so i did it manually with dvd2avi. but when i try to transcode the .dts file with besweet (got the correct directshow filter installed via powerdvd), all i get is silence. now, the questions:
- is there a utility with which i could listen to the .dts file to make sure it has any sound at all?
- or what i am doing wrong?

thanks,

BeSweet cannot decode dts. use azidts instead.

as a matter of fact, i AM using azidts, only it's through the besweet GUI. see the screenshot: http://www.pdx.hu/besweetdts.gif, i have azidts configured. gaargh, what am i doing wrong? :(

hum it seems to me u need a filter bundle in windvd not powerdvd.

perhaps u could try to deleting the registry key :
local machine \ software\ intervideo \ common \ audio

and retry to encode. this have been worked for me.

PS: if it doesn't work u need perhaps a registered version of powerdvd.

deletion of regkey node didn't help. :( now i'm completely stuck. is there any other way to decode DTS? or at least steal a listen to the DTS track if it's okay at all? the problem is that i cannot identify what is wrong - the DTS decoding codec, azidts in crosscoding, the DTS soundtrack file, what? i'm getting seriously desperate here. :(

Azidts is dependent on WinDVD. I had PowerDVD and it didn't work.

i downloaded the intervideo windvd 5 pro trial version, and tried using the filter from it, but it didn't work, even though i did everything by the book. i wonder if the dts file is corrupt... or the trial version dshow filter is not enough?

it's perhaps because u use a trial version.
