Cinema Craft Encoder Problem

i have just started using cce i used to use tmpgenc encoder plus but it is far to slow compared to cce when i try to encode in cce then stop and preview the resulting mpg2 file the movie is really small on the screen all round the movie there is a black border

anyone any ideas guys

Hi-

We'll need some more details. Are you converting a DVD? And you're converting to what, an SVCD, or just reencoding to fit onto a DVD-R perhaps? And if you fed CCE with an .avs, then could you post that, please?

If it's a widescreen movie, it's supposed to have black bars above and below. And depending on how you set up the .avs, you might have small black bars to the left and right sides which will get hidden by the TV set's overscan. Is there any way you can post a screenshot?

what i did was i put my avi file in cce when i encode everytime i get a black border ALL round the movie top,left,right, and bottom only the movie is there only it is in the middle and smaller that usual the movie is widescreen but not that much lol
i purchased tmpgenc so i am not really a newbie with encoders in general but i am with CCE i found the speed to be a lot faster that tmpgenc plus my main reason for changing tmpgenc has a habbit of freezing on you sometimes
is there something i should have done first prodbally something really simple to thanks for any help

You still didn't say what kind of output you're hoping for. I guess that you want .mpg at the same resolution as the .avi. Anyway, check the Video Tab to see that you don't have DVD Compliant checked. If so, you'll feed it your .avi at whatever resolution, and you'll get 720x480 (NTSC, or 720x576 PAL) out of it with black bars added all around to make up the difference.

I'm by no means an expert at CCE. I just use CCE 2.50 for making SVCDs, and always feed it an .avs. Have you seen the Doom9 CCE Guides? Here's one:

that was the problem i didn't uncheck DVD Compliant checked box the movie is now lookin good i am aiming to get an mpeg2 file in the output now i have that solved i can do some more reading on the guides
