download tmpgenc dvd author
its free for 14 day and will
do exactly what u want, with menus.
I never tried that program because I heard it would not accept VOBs.
If thats true then it means re-authoring with seperate streams and all the chapter loss etc. - right ?
thanks

Wrong. It will accept vobs.

tmpgenc dvd author accepts vobs ONLY IF it likes them. For instance it would NOT accept a vob made by DVD-lab or a subtitled vob made by ifoedit.
DVD-lab instead seems to be more hospitable.

anyway relying on a program to accept your vobs is a bit risky action. It is so easy to demux them using vobedit that completly eleminates the need to feed muxed vobs to a program altogether.
