Hi there,

i got a problem with creating SVCDs with 2 Audio tracks.

(Sorry for my bad english :-) )

I have a SVCD with German Audio. Now I got the English Audio as mp2-File. I do not want to replace the Audio Track. Instead, I want the CD to have both Audio tracks (so I can switch between them in my DVD Player. How can I do that?

I tried a few tutorials from doom9 but I wasn't successful, so can anyone help?

Svcd specs allow for 2 audio tracks. I personally have a big selection of them all having 2 audios in.

We need a description of the steps u did in order to spot any errors.

hi and welcome to the forum,
@odd: i think what he means is, that he wants to add a second audio track after successfully creating a SVCD with just one track...

now i think theoretically there shouldn't be too much problems adding the audio BUT you will have a nice size issue: if you add another audio track you will have a final size of maybe 150 (or so) megs more. now the problem will be that you will not be able to fit the movie to the same amount of CDR after adding the audio track. only way to avoid that would be to reencode the video. before doing this, i'd rather recommend that you do the whole SVCD again as it will preserve much more quality.

anyway, if you decide not to reencode, you'll have to extract all the video files from the *.dat container, then join them, then demux (or simply remux with the second audio added, then create a new SVCD image to burn.

First of all, thanks for your replies.

What I ment was what killingspree described above:
I have an SVCD with one German audio track. When I put this CD in my DVD-ROM I can copy the MPG File to my HD. I demuxed this MPG-File with e.g. TMPGEnc. What I got was a MPV (Video) and a MP2 File (German Audio). I tried to multiplex the MPV with the German MP2 AND the English MP2 File again with the help of bbMPEG for example (I used the Tutorial on doom9). I got an MPG File with 2 Audio tracks. After that I wanted to burn this MPG File with Nero as SVCD again.

So my question is: Should this work or not? Am I doing something wrong? There shoudn't be a quality loss or am I wrong?

Second problem would be the MPG Size, I know, but can I split the Created MPG File to burn it on 2 CDs? Or is it possible to split it while multiplexing?

As you may have noticed I know what is to be done, but not HOW or with what kind of tool, you know?

Thanks for your help, again. :)

Yes it should work in theory. Check that the new remuxed stream is synced.

U can remux with the 2 audio in one big stream and cut the parts u need afterwards.

Since u r not reencoding u want suffer any quality loss.

sorry for missing your point in the 1st place :)

Hi-

Should this work or not?

Yes, it should work.

There shoudn't be a quality loss...

No, no quality loss, since the video is the same as before.

...can I split the Created MPG File to burn it on 2 CDs?

bbMPEG can split at the same time that it muxes. In the General Settings Tab, at the bottom, you can set the Max Size (size of first CD, and the leftover will be on the second CD).

Edit: oddyseus beat me to it. Hi oddyseus. :)
