I Ripped a DVD9 to my harddisk, and now want to write on DLT.
I'm using DVDPremaster Tools, but after i click on the Input Source directory, it said

"No layout preference file(i.e. a file with a ".LAY" extension) was found in the "VIDEO_TS" folder. If you choose to continue the layout, a new preference file will be created with all parameters deflaulted.

and then i can't choice "Two Layers" in the Dual Layer Option.

What should i do if i write Dual Layer to DLTs ?
Any other software can make it easy ?
or something(such as ".LAY") i missed in VIDEO_TS folder ?

Thanks.

U r talking about Maestro. The lay file is created when u build your title set u have built in Maestro and contains vital info about the structure u want to write in dlt or anywhere else.

Since u have ripped the dvd there is no such file present. Ofcourse u can create one by re-authoring the whole project, but I think this is out of question. Maestro would try to create one with the default choices, that I don't know of since I ve never used this approach.

Not having access to the original assets is a major drawback since it can't decide for himself where to split the project. Further more there is the need to determine the running methode of the 2nd layer. Should it be run in opposite or parralel direction in regards to the 1st one.

If u need it for reproduction u have to re-author, if u want it for backup just backit up in whole as files.
