Installed A Kworld KW-TV878RF-PRO card and cannot get the software to load. The card has the Conexant Fusion BT878A chip with a Phllips NTSC Tuner. It has mpeg1-2 encoding and FM Radio capabilities.

When executing the MpegTV Station for the first time, I will get a window to choose my country( i.e. video format). From there nothing happens. Even attempting to load WinDVR, same thing.
I have downloaded the latest drivers, and even those third party drivers, suggested in the Doom9 Video Capture Guide. Problem with the third party drivers is they do not include NTSC capability for the tuner. Same problem with ChrisTV and other software, not NTSC compatable. According to the Device Manager, the drivers function properly.

Got the software to load one time. Was even checking out the TV Auto Tune settings, when I moved the settings window covering the TV window. That caused the system to freeze and had to do a reset. since that time I have never been able to get past the first pop up window. Only once after installing the third party drivers did I get past it. Got the TV screen outline and an error "H/W Failure".

Is it possible I have a bad card? Hope some one out there can help, as I cannot seem to contact Kworld Support.

is it sharing an irq?

Yes it is. Sharing with my modem and the chipset USB/PCI host abapter. Unable to change it either. Will move it to other slots and see if that makes a difference.
Should have remembered the IRQ positioning, but not using DOS much anymore, you tend to forget about those problems with plug-n-play?
Thanks for reminding me, will get back to ya. :p

Switched the card to a slot where I got it to have it's own IRQ, still did no good.
Went to http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ and installed his drivers, but they do not include drivers for the tuner and crossbar, all I get is a TV frame and "initial H/W fail" error.

btwincap drivers are only to get past limitations lie capture resolution etc due to vfw being unsupported in nt/2k/xp.

Can virtualdub initilise the driver in capture preview mode?

Its really best to bypass the tuner except for short notice quick movie capts, and use the f878a chipset you'll get better results & less noise, especially if you use even a old vcr as the source, bec if you have a weak signal the vcr will act as a amplifier...

Got it to work using DScaler. No problems at all with this software. Now to get my FM! :D
