I relatively new with virtual dub but the last few avi files I've tried to extract the audio from give me the same error message....something about no audio compressor could be found. It does not stay on the screen long enough for me to see it all. I wonder if I need more of the encoder files but I'm not sure.
What can be done to fix this? Oh yeah, most of the avi files are xvids but some are divx too.
Thanks

hi,
try downloading those audio filters (http://doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/audiofilters.zip). it seems to me that you do not have the right codec installed. this again leads to some doubts to the fact if those avis are legally obtained. maybe you'll want to check the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) once more!

oh btw it doesn't matter if the video is divx or xvid (if you are really trying to just get the audio out of the avi)
