All I can say is all of a sudden VirtualDubMod wouldn't start, complaining it needed MSVCP71.DLL. Well, there's no such DLL on the support site. I know somebody else was asking about this due to scripting problems.

Well, here's a site to get MSVCP71.DLL:

This is no dependency of VDubMod, rather (probably) of some AviSynth filter.

What's odd is this was happening when I tried to launch VirtualDubMod. There were no filters involved.

I have noticed, however, that a script I was working on which included Wilbert's code to use Shadow Smoother in AviSynth was forcing VirtualDub and VirtualDubMod to crash when exiting. There would be a window about the event being logged but I have no idea where that log is kept.

The whole thing is weird. I ran Systemworks' Windoctor which didn't find anything wrong and also Spybot. Then I reinstalled both VirtualDub and VirtualDubMod. The only thing which removed the error was loading that runtime DLL.

Really weird.

@Fred,

The warpsharp package from

http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-PaloAlto/2382/

needs two 71 dll's (which can be downloaded from the "71" link). Thus the plugins warpsharp.dll and loadpluginex.dll need them.

Ah, ok. That's not really obvious unless you read Japanese, huh?

Since 1.5.1.1a VDubMod loads AViSynth at startup, so consequently plugins in the avisynth autoload dir are also loaded and show up their respective dependencies.
