I have a divx video clip I captured from TV.

my avs file was only :
DirectShowSource("video.avi",fps=29.970)
FieldDeinterlace()
(using DeComb)

when I play it in media player, it looks ok, just choppy. no error messages.

In virtualdub, if I play it or do a dub, I get the "Video Desync!" message.

I'm pretty new with avisynth.
Is there something I'm forgetting?

VDub's access pattern is not always linear. Use AviSource().

I tried using AVISource earlier but it said it could not open it. I was using 2.0, but I recently upgraded to 2.5 and now it works.
It seems to have helped. I no longer get the error.

but when I look at the resulting file, it is very choppy.
(I did a direct stream)

when I do fast recompress and compress to xvid, it drops frames
