Hi,
first of all, i have to mention that i'm pretty new to dvd authoring,
until now i was ripping to xvid exclusively.

Ok, here's my problem:
I encoded 3 mpeg2 streams with cvd resolution.
I was planning to use spruceup to author a dvd with a menu and these 3 streams.
But unfortunately i realized that spruceup isn't able to author half-d1 menus and
on top of everything also writes wrong aspect ratios and resolutions to the ifo files.

Now my question is:
Does anybody here have experience with half-d1 authoring?
What program do you use?
Will Maestro do the job?

Sorry if this question has already been answered, i did several searches but couldn't find anything
useful.

thanks in advance,

zulu

If you author them with IFOEDIT you should have working vob sets (title sets) in different folders -Try them in PowerDVD as well as the play DVD function in ifoedit. In ifoedit its really easy to set the aspect ratios.

Then follow my guide "A Simple Menue - Easy" in this forum.
You can mix any working (playable) formats to one DVD with one menu with this method.

To enhance maa's post, Maestro is capable to handle half d1 mpeg streams, either mpeg1 or mpeg2. I used this resolution alot when doing mini dvds for my afrey standalone

thanks guys!

@oddyseus:
i've heard that the dvd menu has to be the same res as the movies, thus in my case half-d1. is that correct?
If so, can i specify the menu resolution in maestro?

If the video is where it belongs (VIDEO_TS.VOB for title menu, VTS_xx_0.VOB for all others) it can differ from the title video in all respects except television standard (NTSC or PAL).
If it resides in the same space as the title video, it must aggree in all respects (resolution, aspect ratio, MPEG1 or MPEG2, auto-letterbox, auto-pan/scan, letterboxed, FILM/CAMERA)

I have done 1/2 D1 (cvd) in Spruce up. No problem at all.
