Hiya,
I am wanting to burn divx/xvid movies onto DVD. I have TMPGenc and virtualdub. Also have Nerovision and TMPGEnc DVD author. Basically I would appreciate any advice off people on how to do this in the easiest, most non technical way possible. I am getting very confused by all the contradictory advice out there and techno jargon  Also, how do I go about adding an AC3 soundtrack to the movies I burn. Some of my Divxs / Xvids have ac3 soundtracks.
Please help before my brain implodes.
Thanks.

Hi,
I think most newbies would find useful to go with DVD2SVCD. It has a mode for AVI2SVCD (you may build DVD formats too.)
See the extensive Doom9 guide for DVD2SVCD in order to de-newbieize yourself.
Also please read the forum rules before posting. There is a link to them at the top of every page you look (do it before your brain implodes :))
Hope this helps.

Get a copy of virtualdubmod off of soundforge. Load your file. Under streams list select demux. It will save your ac3 with the correct extension. When finished select disable audio. Under video select direct stream copy. Then under file; save your avi. This will give you a audio file and a avi with no sound. Load your silent avi into tmpegenc and encode (ES) option. when finished you can load both files into tmpeg dvd author. If it tells you the ac3 file is invalid, get a copy of besplit and run it through there. If your audio file is a mp3 or wav you can run it through besweet to get a dvd valid mp2 file. Good Luck.

before you can use tmpeg to convert divx/xvid you will need to have the codecs installed on your computer, b4 that it wont recognise any of these formats,
