chapter creation

I did a search and couldn't find anything, so I'll ask what has probably been asked already.

I converted a divx file to a DVD compliant MPEG using TMPGEnc Plus, then I used TMPGEnc DVD Author the mpeg into vobfiles, etc.

I can fast forward the dvd but I can't skip by chapter. I'm not looking to create menu items or anything fancy, just be able to fast forward via chaptering.

Is there a program that can either chapter the mpeg before authoring automatically(set chapters lets say every 10mins) or after the authoring process?

Welcome to the forum,

mpeg streams can't be chaptered before or after the authoring stage. U have to chapter them manually during.

PS. This avatar of yours is a version of the one markrb, a senior member of this board, is using. As u surely know, avatars r a way to recognize each other just by looking at it, no need to look for the nick in a post.

Could u consider changing it, so that there will be no confusion between the members?

Well I guess I'll have to learn how to do it. I was just hoping that there was an authoring ute that could auto-create chapters.

As for the avatar I've been using this avatar for quite awhile and will not use any other.

You can easily create chapters at specified time intervals or numbers with TMPEG DVD Author.
Just try the "Chapter cut edit" Button.

I will thanks. I remember I tried using another authoring program and just screwed things up. Ever since I just never tried.
