OK i have a svcd file where the AR is wrong, so ive run the mpeg2 file through dvd2avi, opened the project in tmpgenc and i can get the AR correct, the proplem is when trying to re-encode to a new file with the correct AR the picture now shows interlacing lines.Anyway to get rid of this with out useing the deinterlacing filterv ?

The original svcd never showed any interlacing lines.

What was the original aspect ratio and what is the new aspect ratio? IIRC some of the smaller AR's don't have interlacing. It's when you go to a larger size that it occurs. Have you tried setting the source to non-interlace progressive and the encode mode to non-interlace? That may be the problem. If that doesn't fix it, you may have to use the deinterlace filter. If you want to do a small encode for testing, load your file and use the source range filter. This way you can encode a very small clip without it taking a long time and you will be able to see the results. When I check things like aspect ratios, I even change the setting to Motion Estimate (fast) for my test clip because I'm just checking the ratio and not video quality. When I do full encodes, I use Motion Estimate Highest Quality(Very Slow).

I hope that helps.
