I am trying to rip some videos I have and then encode them to divx 5.0.5. I get the error which I know many of you have seen very frequently, "videosourceavi error: the sourceimage format is not acceptable. (error code -2)." i have searched through a number of threads about this problem and I have also tried TelemachusMH's solution of changing the yv12 entry in the registry, but i still get the same error. I saw a suggestion of turning off divx 5's "do not prompt with error messages," and i did that, and now i get two errors. The first is "sorry, incompatible log format" and then i get the error code -2.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I don't have any avs scripts or anything, because I just pulled in the video from my ati aiw card using vdub vcr (i used huffyuv as the codec).

First, you have captured the Video, not ripped...

You did'nt say anything about the Picture-Size. Try it with a mod16-Resolution with square Pixels like 512x384, 640x480, 768x576 and so on.
