For the past week I´ve having an strange problem, every time I open a folder that contains an OGM file the windows explorer crash in a while, just after the icon tray of the ogg filter shows.
when I unistall the OggDS the problem stops, but then how can I watch my files I use the 0.995 version.
Does anyone have this same problem?
Thanks.

what OS are you using?
On XP I can see what DLL is in cause so I can trash it :)

what about "thumbnail view", "html preview" or how is all this called? if something like this is on, you might want to return to plain old folders w/o any fancy stuff and you will see your computer even gets faster ;D

unmei is right. I had the crashing problem a while back. It crashes because it trys to load the video in order to generate a little snapshot of the video to put over in the details section.
I'm not sure what I did to fix it. I do have the "common tasks" menu disabled, ( CP -> Folder Opts. -> Tasks ) so you might try that. Also check for DS filters that might be conflicting, one of those two fixed the issue on my end.
It's been a while since I figured out what it was, but I did finally get it to stop crashing. I think it had something to do with conflicting fitlers ( something about Tobias' Subtitle Filter and VobSub fighting ).

I use lit or details on folders, not previews, quite slow.
But after a long way, installing and unistalling it get solved disabling the common task like soulfx suggested, it was hard to figure out because I use the explorer, not the My PC icon so in the explorer the comon task are not displayed, on the left are the directory tree and on the right the files on the folder, so I never see the common task stuff.
I want to thank for all the replies guys.

shmedia.dll I believe is the file responsible for preview functions in XP explorer. it also retrieves, apparently, bitrate information etc..
after seeing explorer choke and hang on huge directories of AVI files and incompletely encoded files I went through the registry with a rampage and deleted all references to shmedia.dll... I don't regret it.
is explorer pinning at 100% on your system? wonder why.. avi preview.
