i tried to convert a dvd to a svcd using dvd2svcd with the same setting as ever, and using vbr, 8 pass and bicubic resize.

first of all the dvd is damaged, when i play on my home Teac the movie every 10 seconds stops for an half second and it restart.

but on my pc with power dvd everything works fine.

i used dvd2svcd and the svcd resulting has another problem on my home player (but still no problem on my pc!). the image are moving very strange when they are fast.

does anybody has an idea?

thanx antonio

There is a few things going on here.

1. You dont need to do 8 passes with CCE, you should only need to do an average of 4 and at most 6.

2. I dont think that the DVD is damaged. If you can play it on your comp and you were able to rip the DVD the your HD then that would indicate that the DVD is OK.

3. I am not to sure what you mean when you say that the images are moving fast. You should have read the rules of the forum and read the Q and A. If you did that then you should know that we are going to need your log file if we are going to be able to help you out.

I would try and play the "damaged" DVD and also the SVCD that you made in someone elses DVD player and see what happens.

Also rule#9 for the forum says to make a good title for the thread. "strange problem" does not describe your problem at all. If you follow the rules by giving us more information, posting a log file and naming the thread properly we will be glad to help all we can. Else you will find that you won't get much help at all.
