Hi folks!

I have a problem with external subtitles....

I'm using DVD2SVCD 1.1.3 Build 2.
The file to be converted is a PAL XVID AVI.
The subtitles' type, which belong to the AVI file, are
*.idx and *.sub (VobSub).

So I do the settings for D2S and then choose
GO - Add external Subtitle Streams. When I
point to the *sub file and hit "ENTER" an error message appears:

List index out of bounds (0)
( or log: EStringListError List index out of bounds (0))

That's all!

To verifiy the *.sub, I loaded the movie into VirtualDub.
I added the VobSub filter with the accordind *.sub file.
Then, I played the movie - everything fine!

So, anyone could help me?

THX

Hi tivi

So your conversion avi to svcd failed at some point, then maby you would like to take a look at the sticky named: avi 2 svcd fails at some point what can i do? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51096) :rolleyes:

There is a link to download a new beta version of dvd2svcd that might help you?

Cheers

Hi desen!

Thanks for trying to help me!

The problem is, that there is no log.txt....
The error message already appears when I try to choose
the external subfiles....

The only thing in the log is:

EStringListError List index out of bounds (0)

So, what can we do now?

BTW, the support for AVI Files with Dual Audio is great!
Only one problem - and I did not have the time to
try more... - the film (AVI Xvid) I converted was jerky.
But only slow movements of the actors or slow movements of the
camera....strange.

I took the same AVI to my other computer and the result was
brilliant. Same AVI - same DVD2SVCD beta.
The only difference: system of the first computer is Win2k.
The system of the computer on which the conversion succeeded
is Win98 SE.

So I found a little time and did some tests.
What I can say is, that the Encoded_Video_CCE_PAL.mpv
is already jerky. I tried different versions of CCE and
TMGEnc and AVISynth v2.08 and 2.52. No result.
Encoded Video still jerky.....

But I know - there are some more tests I have do to....

...and the guilty one for the jerkyness ......
.....has been the decompressor.....

Please post a few lines from your subtitle file here and I'll see if it's in a proper format.

Here I am!

dvd2svcd, there are two files created by VobSub v2.23.

*.idx and *.sub

*.idx can be opened with a text editor, few lines:

# VobSub index file, v7 (do not modify this line!)
#
# To repair desyncronization, you can insert gaps this way:
# (it usually happens after vob id changes)
#
# delay: [sign]hh:mm:ss:ms
#
# Where:
# [sign]: +, - (optional)
# hh: hours (0 <= hh)
# mm/ss: minutes/seconds (0 <= mm/ss <= 59)
# ms: milliseconds (0 <= ms <= 999)
#
# Note: You can't position a sub before the previous with a negative value.
#
# You can also modify timestamps or delete a few subs you don't like.
# Just make sure they stay in increasing order.

The Subfiles together compressed are around 3MB.
I could give you access to my ftp server.
If you want to, I will send you a pm with access details.

BTW, yesterday when I tried to get information
from the database for the following film,

Jules Verne's Mysterious Island of Captain Nemo

I got for the first time nearly the same error message,
this time: List index out of bounds (-1)

I tried this within two different systems. Always the same error.
Could you try to get info?

THX in advance

The vobsub format is not supported, only MicroDVD and Subrip format is supported. I think I noted that in dvd2svcd readme file. They look like this:

MicroDVD
{749}{821}Bună.
{821}{858}Nu.
{1294}{1451}Alerg, citesc...|mai ies... revin...
{1451}{1523}provincie...
{1523}{1574}filme... dacă-s bune.
{1642}{1711}Inteligentă, bineînțeles.|Tandră...
{1711}{1783}drăguță... cred.|Dar nu neapărat.
{1844}{1919}Cineva cu care poți, într-adevăr, să discuți.

SubRip
1
00:00:08,878 --> 00:00:12,883
Toon geen genade!

2
00:00:13,175 --> 00:00:17,179
Want die zul je zelf ook niet krijgen!

3
00:00:50,383 --> 00:00:54,388
Wat gebeurt daar allemaal?
- Zal ik het voor je beschrijven?

4
00:00:54,513 --> 00:00:58,100
Of wil je dat ik een
kist voor je zoek?

Will VobSub be supported in the future?

Could you reproduce the error while fetching informations
for the film: Jules Verne's Mysterious Island of Captain Nemo

I will try to convert my subs!I know, and I saw that, but you know, better safe than sorry. Sometimes users gets confused because there's so many different subtitle types.

Maybe, I haven't decided yet.

Ehh, I lost you there Tivi, to what effect did you want me to test this?

It occurred yesterday for the first time.
I wanted to convert a *.pva file and additionally
I wanted to add some movie informations.

So under the "CD image" tab I pressed the "IMDb" button.
In the "search IMDb" field I put this:

Jules Verne's Mysterious Island of Captain Nemo

After confirming, while fetching the movie info a new window
appeared displaying the error message:

List index out of bounds (1)

Normally I would not mention this, but trying to get the movie
info with DVD2SVCD running on a different computer, resulted
in the same error message.

So I just thought, that this information could be interesting for you.
Maybe he error message is reproduceable....

THX
