View Full Version : Constant chapter problems with the Big 3

Hello folks!

I'm posting this after spending countless hours trying to figure
out this problem and also searching this forum to no avail.

I do dvdrs this way:

-dvddecrypter , dvd to .iso
-dif4u
-reauthorist
-dcce4u
-reauthorist
-scenarist

Lately every time I finish a dvdr without errors, there's this
nasty chapter problem after authoring.
After I have copied all scenarist .vobs to that unused VIDEO_TS folder which is created by dif4u, and thus using original untouched .ifos, I get kicked back to main menu or these FBI logos
when selecting a chapter with powerdvd's menu or dvds internal scene selection.
This error appears not to be title specific, since I've tried several
dvd's with differing ifo structures...
I have tried with and without IfoUpdate, both cases result the same.

Also, related to this same problem I guess, I've encountered another nasty problem. Certain titles have 3 PGC's in just one VTS, of which one is about 12 seconds and is shown before the main movie.
Using above method this short one is shown, but the main movie starts
just after it, without changing the PGC right. Powerdvd first shows the time right, but as the main movie begins, it just counts over the stated time (00:00:15/00:00:12).
This goes on for a few seconds, then it kicks me back to the menu or some FBI logos, just as in the case above.

I'm using quite the latest software. I searched this forum through and found just a note about newest DVDDecrypter being bugged...could that bug be the cause to my problems?

Any help will be highly appreciated!
Thanks..

What happens if you play the Scenarist generated VIDEO_TS directory, i.e., w/o merging them with the originals?

Hello,

The video_ts which scenarist made works with one exception,
and that is that now the short pgc is shown as expected, but
this time in 'main movies screen'. Now powerdvd does not show
the duration for this short one, but rather starts counting the main movie time. This ends me 12 seconds too long movie indeed!

Any clues to help?

Thanks for any replies!

I just found what the problem was...I didn't fully understand
exactly what files ifoupdate really updates and guides were confusing
for their part, so I naturally copied over wrong ifos :P

IfoUpdate updates the 'original' ifo to work with the dvd-r,
not the 'authored' ifo. 'Original' had to be copied over the scenarist files after update and the dvd-r worked.

Thanks for any replies though.
