CCE 2.66 Settings for dvb-sources ?

Hello cce-fans,

I'd like to shrink my mpeg2-files, captured with my dbox (dvb), with cce 2.66 SP-Trial.

Could you please give me some hints/settings for encoding with a good compromise between filesize and quality ?

Do I need any other tools besides CCE ?

What's your target? DVD? SVCD? be more precise and we'll help you.

For SVCD I'd advice you to perform a multipass VBR, 3-4 passes (more than 4 is a waste of time).

For DVD you could do a 1 pass VBR (Q 20 - 40), else use ROBA mehtod (that gives a very good quality in just 2 passes).
