Well...

I have a Movie, ready ripped, encoded and so on! 2 MPEG-Files for 2 CDs! Now, I want to make some Chapters and for that I chose VCDEasy! With VCDEasy I have made 33 chapters on the first CD! I have done this with the Preview-Option under "Chapters"! Just installed the MPEG-2 Codec from "Elecard"!

Ok... I have burned the CD and put it into my standalone DVD-Player! The Chapters are all wrong! Between each chapter is a Fade-Out/In! Thats why I can say that!

Here a Small list:

1. Chapter set by: 3:01 but 2:31 --> -30s
2. Chapter set by: 8:20 but 7:42 --> -38s
3. Chapter set by: 9:00 but 8:21 --> -39s
4. Chapter set by: 11:04 but 10:23 --> -41s
5. Chapter set by: 11:40 but 10:58 --> -42s
6. Chapter set by: 14:04 but 13:20 --> -44s
7. Chapter set by: 15:24 but 14:39 --> -45s
8. Chapter set by: 15:31 but 14:44 --> -47s
9. Chapter set by: 16:21 but 15:34 --> -47s

and so on....

I have to say something else! The Timer on my Standalone DVD-Player is always wrong! Sometimes Seconds go faster, sometimes slower! But maby that is normal! Anyway!

I have also made with "D2S" a multilanguage MPEG! That means that I have chosen 2 languages! If i play the MPEG-Fileon my pc "Windows media player" i can hear both, on my Standalone i am only hearing one! But i am not able to change that! How can i change the chanels!

2 Problems to be solved! Please help me!

hi and welcome to the forum,
unfortunately nobody seems to have an answer for this over here in the newbie forum, so i'm going to move this thread to the DVD2SVCD basics forum.

I dont know why VCD easy would put the chapters in the wrong spot. Try to upgrade to a newer version of VCDEasy. Just burn the MPG without chapters. Last but not least you can try to re-encode the movie again using DVD2SVCD and set up the correct options to make the chapters. If you are posting here asking about this stuff then you should have the original DVD so that shouldnt be a problem.

As for the 2 languages that you have chosen for the 2nd MPEG, it might be that your DVD played doesnt support that. Try to play it in someone elses DVD player and see what happens. You know that the audio tracks are there as you heard them when you played them on your comp.

Did you try pressing the AUDIO button on your remote ?
This will help you select the next language on your DVD player.

As for the 1st problem where chapter marks are not correct. Open the VCDXBUILD_??? file in notepad or any text editor. At the top you will see the chapter marks are set to seconds you can manually change them to whatever you want. Keep in mind changing the chatper mark time stamp is different than adding a new chapter. So don't try to add any new line as this will create you problems if you don't know what you are doing. Once you have updated the chapter marks open the DVD2SVCS log file and look for a line that saying creating CD image. Run that command on the command line and you should be good to go.
