How the DC10Plus handles dropped frames

It appears that the DC10Plus doesn't insert "blank" frames for dropped frames. I realized this by noticing that captures with a higher drop rate had worse sync issues. Then I loaded a cap file in VirtualDub and "next dropped frame" finds no dropped frames. This seems to have serious implications if you have any dropped frames. Virtual VCR assumes that blank frames are inserted where frames are dropped. The DC10Plus assumes that the cap prog will just adjust the frame rate based on the number of dropped frames.

Is there any solution to this?
