i use roxio cd creator to write a few video files in a cdrw media

1)can i confirm that there is no way you can delete just 1 file from the cdrw
..we have to delete the entire disc ?

2) i am looking for some software which is like roxio direct cd..remove 1 of the many files at any time without erasing the entire disc ....but yet do not have to lose about 130 Mb in creating a direct CD format in the CDRW media .

3) WHICh Software best retains the quality of video files ( burning from Hard disk to blank CDRW media ??

you have to erase the whole cdrw just to get rid of everything complete, i'd burn a couple of cdr/w and sometimes i want to add new stuff and/or deleted some other stuff, what i found out was just cause i deleted the files and burn new stuff (multi-session) doesn't mean it was actually gone, you just won't seen it, but it's there.

I can;t even delete any 1 files in roxio cd creator program ( CDRW )
I have to erase all the files at 1 go .

1) Only if I had format the CD RW in DIrect CD prog, I can delete files 1 by 1 ..but the formatting wastes 130 Mb

2) ** Looks like there .is no other way ...except to waste 130 MB

3) ** ANY OTHER Software that serves my needs but can delete files 1 by 1 without wasting 130 Mb to format ??

i don't understand what you mean by "wasting 130 Mb"?

each time , I use ROxio's Direct CD to format CDRW ( where can you simply delete or add files without have to delete the whole disc)

Out of 700 Mb for blank CDRW , you are left with 570 Mb after formatting ( lose 130 Mb of blank space per se )

** ANY Software that allows me to do the above but without having to waste so much space for formatting ?

why not just burn it the regular way "data cd" you would be able to uses the whole 700mb (give or take) of the cdr/w.

if you're worry about losing your files everytime you format your cdrw, just copy them into your harddrive and re-burn them again; that's what i do all the time

ROxio's Direct CD seems more trouble than what it's worth (i'm talking about the 130mb lost)

Qn .."" HOW DO you do this ..what software ....
Just drag the video file into CDRW window.? .Drive will not recognise the files

i was assuming that you were already doing that, that kind of explaing alot.

i don't know what version you're using, but i'm using ezcd 4, do the following: Program Files -> Adaptec -> Easy CD Creator 4 -> CreateCD click on createcd.exe select "Data CD" and drag all the files you want to burn into CD Layout and then burn.

if you have Nero there a DATA CD option there.

are you burning regular files (avi, mpg, rm, mov) or are burning (s)vcd, cause regular files won't play on a dvd player.

what do you mean by "Drive will not recognise the files"?

I am following what you do

just cause you deleted a file, doesn't mean it's gone, you just won't see it, but it's there, and you won't get additional space back from the deleted file; the only way to actually delete a files from a cdrw is the formatted it, kind of like the same way you format a floppy, but with the Erase CD option that's in every CD Burning program.

hi

Thanks a lot

do you mean when you press the Erase CD button ( I only have that ) , and you highlight the file .., they will not reformat the whole disc, but just delete the one file that we highlighted ? The rest of the files remains intact

like formatting a floppy, the Erase CD option will get rid of everything, the cdrw will be somewhat blank*

*if you uses the Quick Erase option instead of Full, it's sometimes leaves a trace of what uses to be on there.
