I have some avi file ( mpeg2) , I want to burn this avi to my DVDR .
Can anyone tell me the step to convert those avi2vob so I can burn to my dvdr.

what bond says actually makes a lot of sense. U can't have an avi that contains mpeg2 video. Its either of them. If u have an avi u can reencode it, using a number of progs, for making mpeg2. The best few is CCE, Tmpeg, bbmpeg, Canopus Procoder etc. A search would return much more results and progs as well as the neccesary procedures to use them.
