Hi,
I'd like to back up my "flipper" disc of Stargate. It is a dual sided DVD, with half the movie on each side. Is there a simple way to backup both sides of the disc onto one DVD-R?
I'd rather not do a full re-author, as the disc really isn't worth the effort. But, I'd like to back it up if there's an easy way so I don't have to keep flipping the dang thing in the middle of the movie.
thanks,

rip the main vobs of each side to a seperate folder, rename the vobs of the second side to consecutively follow the ones from the first side, proceed as usual...
btw the search button is your friend around here ;)

thanks for the info. I did search, but either ended up with nothing or lots of unrelated topics. :( Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

approach suggested by killingspree will be unreliable; a lot of times it will play the flipside 1st. follow the link provided by jhmac. thats the right way to handle vob id sequencing.

use dvd2one to shrink each side to 2gig
use TMPGenc dvd author to add the two dvds together.
dvd author will let you add menus if u want.

When you do it by the VOBedit method, I lose chapters of the second disc. I get one large chapter for the entire disc. Anyone else have this problem?

Use infoedit v0.95 command create IFO`s at bottom of window.
It works and gives you chapters on first and second disk.
Hope this helps.
Found this solution on infoedit website. At one time they had a file of all their FAQ`s available for download and it was included.

SirScrub's flipper-guide:
http://www.sirscrub.com/start.htm
is the best I've seen for these 'flippers'.
Check out the one for LotR, and the 'Additional' related info...

The link works (still) for me.
Try:
http://www.sirscrub.com/lotr.htm
If that doesn't work, try turning on/off your proxy, or at another time?
If need be, I'll e-mail it to you...

DVDShrink 3.0 beta 3 apparently does this.
