i have a dv avi (with an audio track) and a separate audio track (wav). instead of dvd2svcd extracting the audio from the main dv avi file, how can i skip the audio extraction process and go to audio processing for that separate audio track i'd rather use?
one option that i know of is that i can extract the video only while using vdub and then mux it with the separate audio track and then load that to dvd2svcd. this takes a long time. is there an easier way than this?

Hi dede95064,
I don't know of an easy way how this can be done and that would be less time consuming than the way you already described with VirtualDub involved.
So you're out of luck in this case and vave to go the extra mile I guess - it's just that DVD2SVCD wasn't designed for such a scenario in the first place - so now easy workaround exists in this special case.

You can also convert your wav to mpeg 1 layer 2 using the besweet manually and let DVD2SVCD do its stuff. Once the audio conversion is finished you can overwrite the file created by D2S with yours. Video encoding takes long time so you will have plenty of time to do this. Keep in mind that you might run into issues if the length of the audio length in the wave file is not the same as the video length. Keep this small thing in mind and you should be able to do what you want to.

yeah, that is a good idea. thanks amit! here's how i came up with a solution a few days ago:
as soon as dvd2svcd is done extracting the audio and begins the audio processing, exit dvd2svcd and all the other programs it's on. then open dvd2svcd again and go to the recover button on the misc. tab. recover from the audio processing but before hitting the button, make sure you copy the title of the extracted wav file, delete the extracted wav file, and then paste the title onto the wav audio file you want to use. hit the recover button and that's it. dvd2svcd will think that it's converting the old audio file.
this method is very easy. the one thing that is unfortunate is that you still have to wait for dvd2svcd to extract the audio. i tried the option mentioned on my first post but that took a longer time than doing it this way.

just another viewpoint for you, here's what I would do:
1. In the Frameserver tab, select "edit as part of video encoding"
2. When audio conversion begins, copy the BeSweet command-line from the log tab, then close the BeSweet DOS window.
3. The AVS editor will pop up, giving you a pause in the action to convert the correct audio file. I usually would paste the command-line into a .bat file, editing the appropriate parts such as the path of the input file.
4. Run the bat file and when that's done, press OK in the AVS Editor and DVD2SVCD will 'unpause' and continue on.
