Does SSE-2 equal Pentium 4?

I have ordered a new Pentuim Centrino Notebook and I noticed that the Centrino supports SSE-2. Does this mean that Pentium 4 compiled programs are safe to run? i.e. Isn't the only difference that the assembler use SSE-2 op-codes? I am wanting to run Vdub P4 binary

P4 uses SSE2, if it's that you want to know.

centrino means the laptop will have the Pentium-M processor (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52334&highlight=centrino), not the P4 or P4-M

from memory the *Hammer range of processors from AMD, the P4 and P4-M and the P-M (http://www.intel.com/design/mobile/pentiumm/pentiummoverview.htm?iid=ipp_dlc_procpmp+tech_info&) support SSE2.
