what is the best setting.. should i really use interleave every frame (or maybe its interweave im losing my mind i think). Ive read some tutorials on working with adobe premeire and audio and an expert that does work in the audio mixing industry doing just audio and AV said that with todays faster computers and drives setting the interleave to 10 seconds was exceptable. BUt he was talking about formats for dvd and DV. So I don think i want to go that far. I thinks its true that the more yo interleave the greater the file size over time...??? I think. I set mine to every 10 and sometimes 15 frames. COULD I GO HIGHER????
If this would save space and play syncd id go as high as 100 frames. I could try it out by i need some expert opinions on it.
Have you tried differnt values?
thanks

I did some AVIs (VBR MP3) with "1 frame" and some others with "10 frames".
The only difference I notice is the 1-frame-file being slightly larger. Playback, seeking and audio stream switching is no problem, even on my 400 mhz computer.
It's different with AC3 though, but this has been discussed in detail in another thread.

I never change them because there is no need to.
Only AC3 has to get 96ms preload, 96ms interleave.
Even if higher interleaving values are possible, and even if there is space saving, it won't be that much, 1 or 2MB may be? nothing spectacular! ;)

Only AC3 has to get 96ms preload, 96ms interleaveNot if you use proper muxing tools

thanks for the replys
its only confirmed my own experimentations
Ive found that on one cd sized movies that it only saves about .5 to maybe as much as 2(not usually) mb of size... most of the time its only about .5 mb

Ok, the recommendation for ac3 interleaving with nandub is 96 ms, but would it be better to use bigger preload figures than 96 ms? I quickly tested 500/96 and 1000/96 and didn't notice any problems, but perhaps it could make a difference when played from a cd-r(w) or dvd-r(w). Any experiences?

Today's recommendation is: use AVI-Mux GUI or dump the AVI container, but definitely dump Nandub for muxing.
