I'm not sure where this needs to be posted but here goes - I had a few (ahem) clips in WMV form which someone wanted on a VCD. I've got Movie Maker 2 and Easy Cd & DVD Creator 6 which I thought would do the job but it didn't play on his dvd player and it wouldn't even start automatically on his pc dvd drive (he had to load the dat file into powerdvd). Anyone got the slightest clue why it won't start-up automatically? TIA

hi,
wmv files are always problematic and since your friends player didn't play the first VCDs, why don't you first check if his player supports VCDs: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php !

if you find out that indeed it does support VCDs, first support remuxing the VCD (dat file) with a VCD tool like VCDeasy (or similar).

if all this doesn't yield the expected results, you'll have to go the hard way and figure out how to use avisynth and CCE/tmpgenc on wmv files, of which i honestly have absolutely no clue if it will work or not!

oh one final remark: i hope the "ahem" refers to adult and not to illegal content. if it doesn't, I'll have to make you aware of rule 6 and the fact that a strike for a violation of this rule will count as a double strike leading you 2 thirds to suspension!

hope this was of some help

You can try this way:

Use dBPowerAmp to decode the Audio-Part of the Video to WAV.
Open the Video in TMPGEnc, open the WAV as Audio-Source.
Then open the Template you need and encode it.
