4th VOB always French! (I want English)

OK, I've scoured the forums and I have attempted all the options I see in DVD2SVCD to work out this problem without bothering you. I've failed. Sorry! I am pretty much of a n00b at this, so forgive me if this has been answered somewhere already.

My rip of the Phone Booth DVD always seems to give me French on the last (4th) VOB file. I don't know if this is because I'm playing the files directly (without IFOs, which I don't know how to deal with yet), or because there really is something going amiss in the rip of that particular file. I tried both internal routines and vStrip, choosing English, Spanish, French, and English+French. I always get French. Here's a relevant bit from the vStrip log file:

As you never stated what your intention was I can only make assumptions.

If you are converting the DVD let DVD2SVCD rip and complete the SVCD before deciding anything is wrong.

If you are using DVD2SVCD just to rip and play the DVD as VOB files then this is not the intention of the program.

If you want to just rip VOB's to your hard drive and play them off your PC without conversion may I suggest you use DVDDecrypter to make and image, mount that image with Daemon tools and play it with you favorite DVD program. See the DVD forums if you need more info on this.

Playing ripped VOB's the way you are is unpredictable.

Remember with DVD2SVCD always let DVD2SVCD rip the DVD for you and don't use external rippers.

If you are not converting to an SVCD then I suggest you hit the DVD forums and read around a little. The guides on Doom9 are also very good.

Since my post, I've discovered IFOedit. Stumbling through it yielded 4 new VOBs with a significantly smaller 4th one, I guess because some info got stripped out of the data across all the VOBs (which always seem to be ~1 GB except for the last one). These all play in English, meaning that you are 100% correct. English was there all along, but playing the VOBs directly did not guarantee getting that language. The only thing that was wrong were my assumptions and inexperience. Thank you. Now to figure out IFOedit better, so I can generate useful IFOs outside the DVD.

Edit: OK, I figured out how to make an "image" with IFOedit. Learned about that magic directory name "VIDEO_TS" too. WinDVD now plays the whole shibang when I select it under "DVD from Folder". I guess I'm there! Thanks again.
