I have a vob file which has a wrong DAR as 4:3. How can I correct it to 16:9?
I did a search on "vob aspect ratio" but can't get enough information to accomplish this job.
Hope somebody can help me.
Have you tried changing the aspect in the vts_01_0.ifo ? That might make it play correctly.

The aspect ratio in the vob file is ignored by DVD players, it is the ifo file that tells the player what to do.
If you do not have the ifo file, that would suggest you do not own the DVD, which would be a violation of Rule #6 for us to help you.

There is a (very) small chance to get a single VOB without doing any illegal thing. That's why i'm posting this recommendation:
DVDPatcher can change the AR of the Video.

Ok, let's make the question clear. The DVD is mine. I use a DVD recorder to burn BSD TV into a DVD. When I played the disc, the output video is 16:9. But extract the vob to hard disc, it is stretched.
So, can I have your help now?

Perhaps its anamorphic, especially if it is streched horizontally. U have a special type of vob that retains the original's full analysis. U don't need to do anything at all with it. Proccess it leaving it as is and re-author it at 16:9. It will return for playback just like the original.
Pls try to understand the policy for rule 6 in this board. We, u me the rest of the members, wont have a reference place if this would turn against us. Clarifying things up is not our job to do, it is yours to provide. :)
I wish I was of help in your problem.
