Again colors ifoedit

Sorry for asking again over colors subtitels.
I've searched the forum but no answer.
I've author a new dvd with ifoedit.
Put my own sup file into the dvd.
But it's outlined red.
The copy color thing from old to new ifo file isn't helping.
I copy paste the old ifo file color in the new ifo file and press save and overwrite, but it won't help either.
The ripped vobs from dvd on my hdd have good white and outlined black subs when i play it on pc.
I've even tryed switching the ifo en bup file from original dvdfile but then the subs are outlined red too.
I'm lost here so please help me.

yes i do.
i don't understand it.
i compared the ifo files color lines in the ifo file.
they are the same.

this the one that ifoedit created.
it's the same as the original.

hmmmm... Weird all your subtitle streams have different colors when i look at mine it there's one color that says 16 (Color 0 16 128 128)
and all the rest says 128 and i get perfect white subs... Are you familiar with rgb colors, well all the colors are digitalle made up out of Red Green Blue. Values can be from 0 to 255 and if i take 128 then it'll be a light gray, as where 16 is almost black...

I can explain my colors in the subs, but i can't explain yours they seem to be more tending to Green am i right, are they more like green? 128 is grey, and 16 is almost black which is used for the see through effect @ the subs..


I'm @ work right now so i can't post my subcolors.

One thing you can try is fill sub color 0 with 16 128 128 and the rest with 128, see if that works.. I'm sure it will.. :D

Subtitles use 2 colors, 1 for the character and 1 for the outline. Each color has 3 hex values, first is brightness, second red, and third blue. Green is fixed at 80 hex.

By setting the last 2 hex values to 80 will set the color to gray.

To make a white character use [EA 80 80].
To make a black outline use [10 80 80].

Looking at your color table, there are 5 possible colors that will produce the redish outline. They are color 0, 7, 11, 14 and 15. By changing each of these colors to 10 80 80 hex, you should have a black outline.

Thanks for the reply's guy but 1 thing i don't understand,
the dvd is created with dvd shrink.
when i play the dvd created by dvdshrink the colors of the sub is good. [white and black outline]
Then i copy paste the color in ifoedit en play the dvd created by ifoedit and the subs are white with green outlines.
The color lines in de ifo file is just the same as the original created by dvdshrink. ????
How is that possible?
I'm lost here.

And to change to color numbers in de ifoedit window, how do i do that?
If i dubble click on the color 0 line and change the numbers in hexedit modul i get only 1 number by the value line.

Is it possible that the problem is in the subtitels?
The subs i use are own subs convert from srt 2 sup with DVDSupEncode.exe
This way i try to insert dutch subs in dvdr.

When you edit a color you will not see the decimal value until you refresh the page, but you will see the new hex value.

I thought you were getting red outlines and now you said it's green. Since you have white characters, you can change all the colors that DO NOT have 80 80 hex as the last 2 values. Change them to 10 80 80 hex and save the file. This will give you a black outline for sure.

The problem is not in the subtitles.

Glad to hear it worked.

You said in your original post that you added your 'own' sub file to the DVD. Where did you get this file, or is it from the same DVD?

BTW: Does anyone know what the other 14 colors are used for, as I don't have a clue.

The sub i want to add is from another dvd.
I just downloaded the sub from a dutch subtitel site.
The dvdr got no dutch subs.
So i want to add this sub.
I extract the english sub from the dvdr to srt.
I make sure that my sub gets the same timeline.
Convert my sub to sup en.......
Everything was good except for the color.
I copyed the ifo color from original ifo file, and you know the rest.

That explains why the colors were different from the IFO file you were using. The Dutch subtitles use a different color table than yours. Had you used the Dutch IFO file for colors, it would have worked.

i created a sup file from a tekst file.
In the tekst file there is no info about colors.

Am i right?

Haven't had any experience with subtitles except for the color thing. I was looking at a few sub text files and there is no mention of colors. What program are you using to convert the text to sup file? Does it mention anything about colors?

Well I tryed to create a dvdr with Ifoedit en convert the sub file from srt 2 sup with dvdsupencoder and edit the colors in the ifo file like they mention in the help file.
It worked very well.
Good color en good outlines. :D

Now i can get dvdr and put my own subs into the file.
