ive looked around alot, even microsluts website. Ive found some info about it and have successfully been able to play one of my divx avi's in IE, but the thing is... Where can i find a difinative source that will explain how to make it all work in every browser?

It be nice if it worked in opera or nutscrape for people that like to use them instead of internet exploiter.

Also. I cannot seem to get the movie to play if the html document is outside of the folder that containes the avi. Ive tried almost everything(except the right way) to set the source or filenames so that they match the directory tree.

This is why i need some help. there may be easier ways to do what i am doing but a lot of this is a mainly so that i can learn some new skills and adapt myself to new problems solving abilities.

*as a side note* im taking one of my dvds and making the special features into a cdrom--just to learn how to make avi's play in html documents..

ALSO

im not using realplayer or quicktime(aka we hate pc people) since both either wont play divx material or suck at their attempt to gain any decent quality.
