AutoShrink 1.0 by nyplayer

Automates ripping, processing, burning with just a couple clicks. Huge timesaver. Put in DVD, use dvdshrink like you do normally, as soon as you hit Backup! then OK when it's done it'll burn your dvd with imgtool.

Sounds complicated but once you get it setup it's extremely easy.

Skip 1:1 added...this allows you to bypass the dvddecrypter rip to .iso and burn and instead use dvdshrink if dvd is 1 layer.

Can anyone get this to work with Imgtool 1.00.6? I can and it works great except when I select shutdown then it says it can't find the directory. I also have 'overwrite automatically' checked too.

BTW: Do I get a prize for a 6 post thread where I'm the only one who replied?

This fixes the issue when shutdown was checked with imgtool 1.00.6. Now it works great. Thanks nyplayer.

Well I don't know what the problem is but just after dvdshrink 2.3 finishes and normally imgtool would start I get an Run time error "53" no file found from Autoshrink. I checked the tools path and they are ok. Dvdshrink and imgtool both work flawlessly on their on. But when started with Autoshrink just before burning imgtool doesn't even open...weird. any ideas? :confused:

Just downloaded AutoShrink, will give it a try. Hope it is easier than Nero Recode! :mad: Heck, it should be. DVDShrink is simple enough...now with burning capabilities, cool. :p

Well I still get the error....Checked everything...well I guess I'll use DVDShrink and ImgTool seperatly. At least it works that way :mad:

I have a similar problem, but it is about starting Autoshrink. Whenever I press "start" in Autoshrink 3.1 I get the message "Run-time error '76': Path not found" But all my paths are correct and I have not used any funky characters in my paths or volume lable. I have Windows98SE and DVDshrink 3.1, ImageTool, and DVD decrypter.All work fine seperately, but not in Autoshrink 3.1 as I described. Anyone know why?

You must be setting AutoShrink up wrong.

DVDROM ... Should be your DVDRom drive letter that contains the DVD.

Shrink Files... Should be the letter of your harddrive where you want the encoded shrink files to be created.


Iso Image ....Should be the letter of your hard drive where you want the Iso Image Created.

that path error usually means that instead of setting up the "Shrink Files" to a harddrive you have set it up to a dvd drive.

Since the release of DVDShrink 3.1, I think AutoShrink is usless to me now. I have Nero, so now it is automatic.
What a great program we have now for backing up our dvd's. I could kiss Mr. Shrink, well on second thought...shake his hand.:D

It's not useless for some. Some people have experienced compatibility problems with Nero burned DVDs and their stand alone player. When using DVD decrypter to burn, their DVDs work fine.

DVDShrink is one great product but the more options we have out there the better.

I'm curious, what kind of compatability issues do you see with Nero burned discs?

I've been into this for going on two years I think and I've yet to have a coaster that I could trace to a burning program. I've used Copy2DVD extensively, Nero 5 & Nero 6. I don't think I've ever had cause to use DVDDcrypter. I did try Roxio once but dumped it because I just didn't like it's interface, tried Gearhead or whatever it's called but it seemed weird to me.

All of what seemed to be burning problems turned out to be media-burning speed problems. I've found that I can use the cheapest bulk-pak media and burn at 1X and everything likes it! In today's world of true 1-click rip to burn software (DVDShrink314/Nero6), an extra 30 or 45 minutes per backup is a small price to pay for excellent compatibility, and I'm not talking software players here, they'll play most anything in my experience.
