Bin Cue Too small

Yes, i searched but i didn't find anything that helped me.

Anyway, when i encode in DVD2SVCD i want the bin/cue images to be roughly 690-700mb each, but instead i get like 815mb and 260mb, any idea whats wrong? Thx a lot.

1) What's the souce of this conversion ie DVD, AVI etc?
2) Uninstall and then re-install DVD2SVCD. Try again.

Firstly why do you want image files of 690-700MB?
The way SVCD's are written foregoes error correction data to allow more to be squeezed on a disc. An 80min/700MB CDR will hold a 800MB SVCD image.

If you really have a good reason for wanting images that size change the CD Size boxes in the bitrate tab so they all read 700 (I know 740 and 800 are the only dropdown options but you can highlight the number and overtype with any number you like.

As for the freaky CD sizes, are you using TMPGEnc CQ encoding? If so I'm amazed a search didn't help!

If not, what settings have you got in your bitrate tab?

Without any info we're only guessing. Please be more forthcoming with the details of your failed encode. It helps others to help you.

Well is there anyway for the bin/cue to be both the same size so i can utilize the full capacity of a CD? Thx a lot.

Well normally the bin/cue files are the same size. If you get one big and one little there are 2 possible problems. DVD2SVCD predicts file sizes from the data at its disposal. Obviously it is getting this prediction way out in your case.

1) Are you using TMPGEnc? if so, in the encoder tab, change the Rate Control Mode from Constant Quality to 2-pass VBR. This makes the file size prediction more accurate.

2) Is the movie you are encoding very short? In order to comply with SVCD specifications the total bitrate (audio + video) cannot exceed 2756kb/s. So if you put a short move on 2 CD's it may be that even encoding the whole movie at maximum bitrate only generates say, 1.2GB of data whilst 2 CD-R's will hold 1.6GB.

To get more equal sizes on the 2 CD's you could use Frame Selection to decide yourself what goes on CD1 and what goes on CD2. However, I think this would mask an underlying problem that would be better tracked down and sorted out.
