I have an external Sony DRX510UL connected through USB2.0 to a computer w/ WinXP and plenty of power. I've successfully ripped and burned a dozen or so movies. However after 3 weeks of use the drive no longer wants to rip movies. It hangs. The error is "Waiting for device to become ready..."
I use DVD Decrypter for the ripping process in File Mode. Once this error comes up, it just hangs. The drive doesn't do anything and DVD Decrypter doesn't rip anymore.
Again, I successfully ripped a dozen movies earlier with no problems and now every movie I try to rip to the hard drive hangs. I did however successfully rip a previously burned movie. So I'm wondering is there some sort of protection in the Sony drive no longer letting me rip protected movies. I know I can get a cheap DVD Rom to assist with the ripping but I want this functionality to work with the Sony as well, even though it is a slow a$$ 2x ripp. As for the burning, I've had no problems and am happy with the write speed/quality.
Here is the DVD Decrypter log:

I appreciate all feedback and assistance on the matter as Sony Tech support are filled with morons.

Additional information to problem above:
After the ripping hangs due to the "waiting for drive ...." the computer no longers sees the drive as well. I can stop the DVD Decrypting ripping process, then go to windows explorer and try to look at the contents of the Sony Burner Drive and it will not show the contents of the DVD movie. I have to turn off the Sony Drive and turn it back on before it recognizes the drive and its contents again. So the drive not only stops the ripping process but doesn't want to have anything to do with the computer afterwards.
