Problem with subs in VOB file.

Hi guyz,
Hope i am not the only one with this problem.. When ripping a movie some weird sh*t happens.. Here we go: We rip the movie with dvddecryptor and make it region free. Second we use IfoEdit to create the missing files VIDEO_TS.IFO etc. Then we burn it back to a DVDR with Nero..

Now the weird thing is in a coupla cases we rip the movie and select all the available subtitles.. However on playback all the subs are shown as english subs.. Weird huh? And it doesn't happen with all movies either..

So basically when we rip the movie, put it back to DVDR with all the subs, it only shows english subs for all other languages too.. :(

I don't have a solution for this problem so i hope one of you guyz has the same and found a solution...

Have you ever opened VTS_01_0.IFO in IFOEdit and specified subpictures' languages by rightclicking on them in VTS overview?
Just an idea,but maybe on a settop player if they aren't specified (which is the default condition when you create new IFO files) you can't actually select one of them.
After doing this open VIDEO_TS.IFO in IFOEdit,click on DVD play and select the different subtitles:do you still have the problem?
Or maybe you've got some weird subpics' ID in those DVDs,try to remap them with DVDDecrypter (it may seem stupid to remap subpics to the same IDs they have on the original disc,but one can never know...;))
Of course at the end of the process remember to get VTS sectors.

Edit: I noticed that the subs in ifo edit were like this:
English 0x20
otherlanguage 0x21,0x20

I think that that's the problem.. heheheh..\
So only option is when i get that i remap the subs, however with dvddecryptor you have to do it when you rip the movie, so my question is: Is there a program that can do the remapping after you have put the movie on your hd? I tried slipstream but that didn't work...

Also doing it with dvddecryptor is not an option since you don't know in advance if the subs go wrong or right.. But better safe then sorry?

If you look at stream processing in DVDDecrypter you'll notice that the each subpic has got only one ID (for example just 0x21, not 0x21,0x20)even if in the IFO it has two.If you open in IFOEdit the new created VTS_01_0.IFO you'll see that now each subpic stream has one ID (at least that's what happens in my experience).However I'll let you know more in detail because at the moment I've borrowed all my DVDs with different language subpics (to write this post I used a DVD with two different Italian subpics and I noticed the double IDs too, so it should be the same, but I'm gonna try with the other DVDs of mine and let you know).
If you want to change streams' ID in your VOB files, I think VOBRator (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Rippers/VOBrator02b.zip) should work for that.;)
However I suggest you to remap IDs (when you need it) directly with DVDDecrypter (I think it's wonderful!!!)

I solved the problem... :D
With your help dave82.. Everything can be done with IfoEdit. :D

Here's what you do when one subtitle stream has 2 referrers (0x24, 0x20 will be shown for instance):
1. Create complete new ifo files with IfoEdit
2. Copy subtitlecolors from old Ifo file to new ifo file
3. Change the names of the subtitles, they are called unspecified in the new ifo file

Save the ifo file and burn the movie..:D

By creating complete new ifo files you get 1 stream for the subs and not a second referr....

Hopefully this helps for other ppl too... :D
