I've got a Pioneer 105. The DVD's I create work fine on my ALba DVD player, and on a lot of others, but not on some. On my daughter's JVC it just giver 'error'. Why is this? I use Prassi DVD to burn the discs.

Some DVD players just can't read DVDR/RW discs. Click here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers) to see if your daughter's JVC supports DVDR/RW.

I know this isn't the problem though. Other DVDr's do work, burnt by someone else. Is it possibly a problem with Prassi and I should change software (but what to?). Or would up-ing the firmware help?

It could be. Try using a different burning program and see if the JVC can play the disc. Also, try using better quality media and see if that helps.

You should check the structure of your files with IFOEdit before burning. This has saved me from a few coasters.
All you do is load the main IFO file in IFOEdit, making sure the files are in a directory named VIDEO_TS and hit make image. If there are errors in any of the files IFOEdit will warn you and attempt a fix. Once I hit OK I usually don't have IFOEdit actually make the image, but instead burn the VIDEO_TS folder along with an empty AUDIO_TS folder using RecordNow MAX. Once I started using this method to double check all the DVD files I have made I no longer have any issues with any DVD player I have tried the burned disc in.

The problem is DEFINITELY with Prassi DVD. I tried COPY2DVD and it worked fine. What is it that Prassi isn't doing?
