How is it that VirtualDub will allow cropping of width with increments of 1 column of pixels but AviSynth will not? Isn't VirtualDub using RGB32 colorspace internally? Is there a way to crop with single-column precision in AviSynth?

Wouldn't that require 4:4:4 colorspace? If so, is there a way to do this yet with AviSynth?

oh, that makes sense for width. What about height for itnerlaced source? The AviSynth doc says mod-2 if interlaced. ViftualDub doesn't seem to care one hoot. At least, the cropping interface support single-pixel increments on all four borders.

Hum, do you want to do this? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44400) Or maybe this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44571&highlight=bicubicresize%2A+crop+with) thread (same subject)

You can crop in 1px steps that way. But I'm not sure if you meant that with "single-column precision", so excuse me if my answer wasn't related to your question :p
