Tech Heads Help: Harry Potter 2, is it impossible?

Hi, Im trying to backup my copy of Harry Potter 2: the chamber of secrets. I tried to use 321 studios DVD Xcopy Xpress to back it up but that wouldnt read it, so I used DVD Decrypter to make an ISO of the DVD, which also encountered problems, but said it was 'cracking' the CSS protection. I then copied the ISO file to DVD and put it in my DVD player and all but the last 20 mins of the movie copied perfectly, I realised then that the file was too big for a DVD-R. So I mounted the ISO into a virtual drive and let DVD Xcopy Xpress try to read it again (because it automatically compresses the file to fit on 1 DVD-R). It went fine up to 50% then hit me with a read error again. So then I used DVD Shrink, it read the file from the virtual drive so far and then hit me with this error:

CDvdCDD::Read failed!
The reason is: The parameter is incorrect

As you can see Ive tried quite a lot to get this bloody thing working and now Im all outta ideas, can some clever people out there please help me?

What region is it? I did my Region 1 and it ripped fine with DVDDecrypter and I transcoded it with DVD2one...

Maybe you have a dud disk. Have you watched it all the way through on a standalone?

I did HP2 via DVDdecrypter and CCE/ifoedit with no problems at all. (region 4 though).

Try some other dvd rippers/dvd drives, maybe one will get through it.

This might be a new type of copy protection (as is already announced).
It is possible to create areas within VOB files that are not referenced by the IFOs (and thus will not be read on normal playing process), that will contain read errors. So any try to read these files (or a whole image) will result in read errors. The only modifications to the programs needed would be to ignore these errors, as they don't contain any content... (Perhaps having an IFO analysis, where a read error would be ok, and where not...)

I did the uk version but for the life of me I can't remember what I used although I think it was CCE for disc 1 and IC7 for disc 2. However, I'm sure that it was plain sailing as I can remember so little about it.

Cheers fellas, managed to sort it, tried using DVD Shrink to encode it from the orignial dvd instead of a mounted ISO and it worked great!
