Since i got a acer tft monitor, all my encodes look worse and darker than ever.
Im' juste wondering i there is any tweaks, tips, settings to decrease that effect, like driver version, video renderer,...
I've got an ATI 9700 radeon, any help will be appreciated

this is a problem with tft monitors, i'm afraid.
might be worth playing with the settings, but you won't get the same colour quality as with a crt, unfortunately.

it could be that your screen is broken. In fact, my first TFT was doing just fine until I connected it via DVI.. then it was dark and there was a high number of artifacts visible on the screen. At first I thought this was due to the digital connection not smoothing out any details due to unnecessary a/d and d/a conversion, but since the effects were also noticeable in games (where there are obviously no encoding artifacts) I had to write off my dvi input (and the warranty had already run out). On my Samsung there's no degradation when watching movies or playing games (in rare cases you can see a slight smearing when playing 3d shooters but I'm usually too busy to notice them).
Doom9:
Do you experience the same when using non-overlay apps, like your favourite web browser (which should be mozilla ;-) )?

@bb: no (and I have tried both IE and Mozilla ;) All that was affected were video and games - the "normal" picture was crystal clear and noticeably better than using the VGA input.

It is not connected via DVI, in fact there is no DVI connector at all
So there's nothing i can do except live with that and adapt my eyes ;)
Thanks anyway, and sorry for not posting in the right section
