I left the doom9 community for a while. Before i went i was still researching on the idea of varible framerate and EHQ only came out right b4 i left and didn't really have the time to test it.

I didn't left here for long.... only a week or two. And now everybody knows how much has happen...

EHQ has proven to be extremely sucessful. Quality has been improve 10-30% across the board. And EHQ only scrafice the encoding's time without the need for more resources on decoder!.
I used to disagree and sometime extreme annoyed when sirber does all his anime encoding on 300 - 400 Kbps range and said they are great. But after the intro of EHQ i simply thinks it is now more than aceptable at this bitrate. ( Well... now sirber is talking about 200Kbps encoding. :D )

I post the idea of varible framerate, mainly because i thought many of the scence in anime are the same. I research it and it seem two or three people had the idea way ahead of me and work has been done already. After many reseach and trial and error. I posted a thread about it....
And when i am back?? Karl has already done the work and it now WORKS GREAT with Dup filter and Dupdope.

The only main after all this was that everybody need realone player to watch this. If you have been hangin around New AV forum for long enough you would know iwod always moan about wanting a DirectShow playback filter....

And Gabest plays the magic again..........
Really.... I have always been moaning about 10-30% quality improvement and DDfilter for the last year or more... And all this happen in less than two weeks!!!!!

I am currently very happy with Rv9, with the powerful subtitle support of Matroska, and the upcoming HE-AAC....
I run out of idea on how to improve things further!!!!

And this and that. Thanks Karl and Gabest for all the hardwork. And of coz, Dark-cracker and his GUI and Sirber for RealAnime and hard sell RV9 :D and many people who have contibute. Three cheers for them.

P.S I am currently learning windows programming with Visual C++ .net 2003......... hoefully someday you will see a Real GUI without the need of a VB6 runtime.

vs.net only compiles against the .net framework if you use "managed" extensions in your code.
you "still" have the choice to build native programs.

ok, I didn't know that.

I'll try to rebuild my GUI in Delphi. I'm bored of that VB crap...
