Hi to all Avisynth filters writers.
I was cleaning my capture video and I notice something interesting. My monitor has a high frequency cut off screen. A tinted glass in front of the viewing area. So as I was experimenting Avisynth (my first time) applying filters like pixie,smart smoother and so on. I converting my video to SVCD and I do a short clip at a time. So whenever i test my clip, I tend to life off the glass so that I see what I convert. I notice that if the tinted glass is left on, my video actually look very nice exept a bit darker, a bit of shade. I can't see the Chroma noise from my source if the tinted glass is there. But if I check without it, it's very obvious on the Chroma noise. Those blinking and fickering noise can't be seen. I would say producing a very clean clip. I can see that the video is cleaner and I like what I see with the tinted glass left on.
I guess can a filter be build upon this concept of noise cleaning. A shade with strength to filter off chroma, blinking and fickering noise.
I'm know nuts about writing a filter but hoping that someone with a bright mind to see can this concept works to filter noise. For those with those screen..try it out to see whether does it look good.
Note, It will not look nice if the source is clean like DVD. But for a VHS source, anything that can kill of those noise is good.
